Wuyi University (WYU) established by the People's Government of Guangdong Province in 1985 as a multidisciplinary university focusing on engineering is one of the first local universities in Guangdong Province to grant master's and bachelor's degrees. The university has the qualification to enroll students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as international students. It also has the privilege of recommending outstanding undergraduates for direct admission to graduate programs without entrance examinations. Currently, Wuyi University is a high-level university of science and engineering in Guangdong Province and under doctoral degree conferment accreditation.

The School of International Education (SIE) of WYU, established in 2023, is a directly affiliated teaching institution of WYU, primarily engaged in international educational work such as the recruitment, teaching, management and services for students in Sino-foreign joint programs and international students coming to China.

WYU is well located with a beautiful environment. It has many years of experience in running Chinese courses for overseas students in China with its teachers having rich teaching experience and excellent teaching effect. The Chinese Language Study Program is designed for foreign students who are interested in learning Chinese and improving their practical application ability. The teaching methods and contents will be flexibly adjusted according to the actual level of students.

Program Introduction

1. The program includes two types of duration: One Semester Program and One Year Program based on full-time study:

Spring semester: March - July, 2026

Fall semester: September, 2026 - January 2027

2. Class schedule: Every Monday to Friday from 8:20 AM to 11:40 AM, with 4 teaching hours per day (45 minutes per teaching hour), totaling 20 teaching hours per week, spanning 16 weeks per semester.

3. Course Levels

Notes:

(1) Classes start with a minimum of 5 students, and those with less than 5 students will be incorporated into other classes or canceled;

(2) A language test will be held within the first teaching week and students will be divided into different levels of class according to their test result. Afterwards students are not permitted to change their class.

4. Main Courses

Spoken Chinese, Chinese Reading, Comprehensive Chinese.

5. Certificates

Students who meet the school's attendance requirements and pass all course exams will receive a certificate of completion at their corresponding level.

6. Fees

Application fee: RMB 400 (non-refundable).

Tuition: RMB 8,000/semester, RMB 16,000/year.

Application Requirements

1. Applicants must present a valid foreign passport (valid for at least six months);

2. Applicants must be aged between 18 and 55 years old;

3. Be physically and mentally healthy, have good conduct, abide by China's laws and regulations as well as school rules and regulations, and have no criminal record.

About Visa

1. For a one-semester (six-month) study program, applicants must obtain an X2 visa (a short-term study visa valid for up to 180 days, for single-entry purposes). Upon arrival, students must register at the college on the designated date, pay the full semester tuition of 8,000 yuan, and complete all enrollment procedures. (Students who fail to register promptly will be reported to the Public Security Bureau's Exit-Entry Administration Department by the school based on actual circumstances.)

2. For a two-semester (one-year) study program, students must apply for an X1 visa. Upon arrival, they must register at the college on the designated date and pay the full annual tuition fee of 16,000 yuan in a single payment to complete enrollment procedures. (The X1 visa must be exchanged for a study residence permit within 30 days of entry. According to the school's policy, tuition fees are non-refundable once the residence permit is issued.)
